inXile Launches The Bard's Tale for Android

InXile Entertainment today announced the availability of The Bard's Tale for Android. Following on the huge success of The Bards Tale for iOS and Mac -- where it hit the top-ten in iPad games becoming the #1 RPG in 75 countries, and #3 top game on Mac -- The Bard's Tale now makes its long awaited debut on Android devices including:
Google Nexus tablets and phones (excluding the Nexus One)
Asus Eee Pad Transformer family
HTC One & Evo phone families
Samsung Galaxy S & Tab families
Motorola Droid & friends
Amazon Kindle Fire
And many more
"We've had numerous requests for an Android version, and we are grateful for NVIDIA's support in helping us bring The Bard's Tale to gamers on Android," said Brian Fargo, CEO of inXile Entertainment.
Included for launch is the original PC classic The Bards Tale I: Tales of the Unknown. The original Bard's Tale series was a #1 hit and has been inducted into the Hall of Fame for both Gamespy and Computer Gaming World. The sequels II and III will be added in the coming months.
The Android version also features an option for high-definition graphic assets, currently exclusive to devices equipped with an NVIDIA® Tegra 3 quad-core mobile processor. The game is featured in the NVIDIA TegraZone app -- NVIDIA's free app that showcases the best games optimized for the Tegra processor.
"NVIDIA's Tegra chipset provides the advanced power to display the high-resolution graphics of the original console version of The Bard's Tale on today's tablet devices," said Stephane Jacoby, Technical Director of Square One Games, developer of the iOS, Mac, and now Android versions of The Bard's Tale.
In addition, the Android version supports a number of Gaming Services such as GameCircle for Amazon devices and OpenFeint for others.
