Borderlands 2

With a release date of September 18th, the launch of Borderlands 2 is just a few weeks away. Despite the imminence of the game landing on store shelves, publisher 2K Games and developer of the series, Gearbox Software, are already thinking about what additional content they can offer players to continue the availability of original gameplay well until players complete the initial campaign that the First Person Shooter/Role Playing Game offers.

In a press release, 2K Games have said that there will be four DLC packs in total, available for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Each additional content pack will include "several hours of gameplay and introduce new adventures, allies, enemies and environments", according to the publisher.

They've yet to reveal any information regarding the content of the DLC but they have provided a list of prices - "they will retail individually for $9.99 (PlayStation®Network) / 800 MS Points (Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network) / $9.99 (PC)" and they say that all of the DLC will be available by June 2013.

The Borderlands 2 Season Pass is something that 2K Games included alongside the DLC announcement, with the season pass working as a $30 fee ($29.99 (PlayStation®Network) / 2400 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE) / $29.99 (PC) for just under $37 worth of content, to save money on buying all four packs. You buy the Borderlands 2 Season Pass and are then able to download each Borderlands 2 DLC pack for free once it becomes available.

The Borderlands 2 release date is September 18th, 2012 and the Borderlands 2 Season Pass will be available from then.
