Rising Storm

Also for this game:

With all the interest in the Rising Storm expansion for Red Orchestra 2, the appearance of an edited set of highlights from the demonstrations at GamesCom seems like a natural project to focus gamer attention on the fun that is packed into that expansion, which is probably why Tripwire Interactive set about to create it, right?

The new video adds in a couple of extra bits here and there for the Rising Storm expansion, which started out as a Tripwire-sponsored mod for RO2, but that has now made the leap to becoming a commercial expansion in its own right thanks to its depth, and the massive player interest it has aroused, expanding its reach to the point that players of Rising Storm will be able to access both Rising Storm and RO2 maps from the same server browser.

The footage that makes up the highlights trailer was first shown at this year's GamesCom in Cologne, as a direct response to the massive interest in the expansion shown by gamers, and to provide a platform for the producer of Rising Storm, Tony Gillham, to explain some of the new features that the expansion is going to introduce, such as booby traps, spawn bunkers, and banzai charges for the Japanese forces. On the US side the expansion sees the inclusion of impressive and historically accurate strategic assets such as the flamethrower, which was a great weapon for clearing out bunkers. The man-portable version of the flamethrower was carried into battle by a single soldier with support from his squad, while the tank-based version of the weapon largely maintained its presence on the battlefield as a self-supported unit.

Red Orchestra 2 is available on Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/app/35450/) and many other digital outlets. Rising Storm will follow!
