Serious gamers follow gaming hardware the way that ornithologists scope out the ivory-billed woodpecker -- and in recent years the PC gaming equivalent of the ivory billed woodpecker took the form of the specialized gaming rigs created by Alienware... Well, move over ivory billed woodpecker, there's a new gaming bird in town and it is a high-performance hawk by the name of Origin!
To mark their emergence as a player in the world of high-performance gaming rigs, one of the largest firms in the biz -- Reverb Publishing -- has announced that they have partnered with Origin and custom high-performance PC manufacturer Origin PC to showcase its growing library of published titles, starting with this year's PAX Prime, where Origin will be providing Reverb with the high-end gaming PC's that they will use for demo and presentation at the expo. Loaded with Reverb's games for PAX Prime 2012 (which takes place from August 31 thru September 2 at the Seattle Convention Center in Seattle, Washington), gamers will have the chance to experience Reverb's upcoming games and a taste of the new gaming rigs from Origin.
"With the awesome games that we're bringing to the market, a partnership with Origin PC is a no-brainer," says Doug Kennedy, President and CEO at Reverb. "Its track record with quality high-end gaming rigs means that we'll be able to bring our titles to consumers at the event in the best way possible."
"The first time we had a look at Reverb's portfolio of upcoming games, we were blown away and couldn't wait to play the games ourselves," says Kevin Wasielewski, CEO and co-founder of Origin PC. "Its stable of quality titles is great for the PC enthusiast crowd and causal gamers alike, and we can't imagine a better publisher to partner our wares with for PAX and in the future."
Reverb's PAX Prime Game Lineup
The list of upcoming titles that will be on display at PAX Prime 2012 using Origin's gaming rigs includes Alien Spidy (XBLA, PSN, PC and Mac), Dollar Dash (XBLA, PSN, PC), Double Dragon: Neon (XBLA, PSN), Pid (XBLA, PSN, PC), Primal Carnage (PC), Insurgency 2 (PC), Rocketbirds: Hard Boiled Chicken (PC), Beatbuddy (PC), and Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller (PC).
Reverb Publishing will be showcasing its games at PAX Prime 2012 at Booth #3340 so if you are lucky enough to be in the Pacific Northwest for this gamer-centric gaming event, check them out and comment below! The GU community will be very happy for you to share your impressions...
