London 2012: The official video game of the Olympic Games
Those who are as enthusiastic as ever about the upcoming athletics-fest that are the the London 2012 Olympic Games will be glad to hear that they can now experience the hurdle jumping, pole-dodging and shoe melting events (as well as all of the other strenuous challenges) for themselves (albeit in a virtual space) as SEGA America (the publishers of the game) have released the event's official video game.
The video game for the London 2012 Olympic Games will allow you to become a "Gold Medal winning professional athlete", with plenty of individual events being available for you to take on in either single-player or against your fellow gamers and wannabe athletes in the game's multiplayer modes. The multiplayer ties into a "global leaderboard system" that has you earning "National Pride" for your chosen Olympic games team (whichever locale you want to support, e.g - France, Italy, Great Britain etc.) - so if you want to see your side score first place, you must try your best in multiplayer with any points that you've won directly affecting the leaderboard standings, making you feel almost as if you're entering the London 2012 Olympic Games for real.
Another feature that SEGA have chosen to include is motion control. Making perfect sense to be utilised in a sports game (and of all the ones to be realistic, this is a biggie), Xbox Kinect and PlayStation Move support will be in the game, letting you take on the official video game of the London 2012 Olympic Games with an added dose of authenticity.
The official video game of the London 2012 Olympic Games is out now for PS3 and Xbox 360 (with a downloadable PC version available for download from the 29th of June, 2012).
