Square Enix announced today that Chris Ballew is providing the score for its upcoming first-person environmental puzzle game, Quantum Conundrum.

The twice Grammy-nominated songwriter and lead singer for the four times platinum rock and roll band The Presidents of the United States of America now writes songs for kids under the name Caspar Babypants, creating high quality, thoughtful, acoustic sing-along songs for parents and kids of all ages to enjoy together.

"I like making music for kids because I admire their inventive imaginations, and as an adult I nurture that same creativity in myself," Ballew says. "The gameplay, humor and art style in Quantum Conundrum embodies that same sentiment."

Developed by Airtight Games, Quantum Conundrum is now available for pre-order on Steam for Windows PC. The game will be available on June 21st for PC, and later this summer on the PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 3 and via Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360.

"Chris was our top choice to score Quantum Conundrum," says Tom Smurdon, audio director for Quantum Conundrum at Airtight Games. "The team wanted someone who would be fun and quirky and would really fit the style of the game. He's a ton of fun to work with and all of that comes through in the music he writes."

Quantum Conundrum has been rated "E" (for Everyone) by the ESRB, with the qualification that it includes Comic Mischief. That means it is an appropriate game for all ages basically...
