Also for this game:

The sporting game subsidiary of mega-publisher EA, EA Sports, is really pulling out all of the stops for across the board for its upcoming titles. Already this year we've heard about the huge improvements to FIFA 13's defense and physics and now their ice-hockey sim franchise is getting several massive upgrades too.

Of those advancements, EA Sports are currently putting the focus on the improvements being made to the franchise's defensive AI - or, more specifically, the goalies . For most critics and players of NHL 12, this was the biggest concern so it's nice to see that they are making such drastic changes. So drastic, in fact, that Sean Ramjagsingh, Producer of NHL 13, describes them as being able to "fundamentally change the game".

The team at EA Sports are living up to this by changing the way that the goalkeeper sees the game at hand. Rather than just seeing the puck, as was the case in previous games, in NHL 13 the goalkeeper will be able to react to every player and every movement, making them move and act much more like goalies in real life - it also makes them less susceptible to conceding goals.

You can watch the updated AI in action below in the new NHL 13 Hockey IQ : Goalies gameplay video below.

The NHL 13 release date is September 14th, 2012.
