Demon's Souls
Previously regarded as 'the most difficult game of all time', the excruciatingly hard RPG, Demon's Souls, was dethroned by spiritual sequel Dark Souls which is now the test of mettle and willpower that Demon Souls once was.
While the latter is now the 'premium' torture device for gamers, legions of fans aren't ready to let it go just yet, so adamant, are they, to keep hold of their Demon's Souls gameplay experiences, that when the North American publisher of the game, Atlas USA Inc., announced that they would be pulling online server support for the game (the online gameplay of Demon's Souls comes in the form of leaving incredibly useful tips for those who have reached the same stage in the game as you), the fans were extremely vocal, voicing their concern and dismay at what would be the removal of a crucial element of the game.
Atlus, keeping their ears open to the sage words and criticisms of the game, which was heralded by many as one of the best games of 2009, have now announced that they are choosing to keep the Demon's Souls servers open "for the foreseeable future", despite having previously informed fans that the servers would shut down at midnight on the 31st of May.
Tim Pivnicny, Vice President of Marketing and Sales, added to the fans' rejoicing by saying "We're incredibly excited to be able to announce that the Demon's Souls online experience will persist for a while longer," which is good news for Demon's Souls players everywhere.
