Those who previously believed that ice hockey was all about body checks, winning on-ice fistfights and slapping the paint off of tiny black pucks will be silenced today, as pioneers of the realistic sports sim genre, EA, are proving that their ice hockey simulation game, NHL 13, most definitely isn't just about that.
EA are trying to slapshot the point home that the ice hockey on showcase in NHL 13 is something to be taken seriously and that to be a bonafide player, it takes skill and t careful positioning of teammates all whilst using tactics and skills to 1-UP your opponent as you battle to slot that puck into the goal via the sturdy wooden sticks that each player wields.
To really highlight this idea, EA have just released a new trailer for the game, titled 'NHL 13 Every Stride Matters', showcasing exactly how every groove that your blades carve into the ice can affect the gameplay just as much as every touch of the ball in FIFA, or every dribble of the (meat)ball in the NBA video game franchises would.
You can watch the NHL 13 Every Stride Matters trailer below.
The NHL 13 release date is September 14th, 2012.
