Fruit Ninja Celebrates Anniversary With New Content and Giveaways

When Fruit Ninja was released two years ago, I'll bet that the developer of the vegetation slicing app, Halfbrick Studios, had no idea that their game would reach quite the levels of success that it has.

Halfbrick aren't ones to sit around and bathe in their victory, no, rather than doing that, they have instead decided to let players bask in their warm successful glow by doling out freebies and new gameplay options to players to thank them for their support over the two years that Fruit Ninja has been live.

Having already provided ten free updates since launch, this new anniversary update provides powerups and new characters, you can read the descriptions below.

-Welcome Gutsu and Truffles: Joining Sensei in the legendary Fruit Ninja dojo are Gutsu and Truffles, best friends and business partners. Travelling merchants, they have set up shop and welcome all to check out their wares in the new Gutsu’s Cart menu. -Powerups: Announcing Berry Blast, Peachy Time and Bomb Deflects – three new items to purchase from Gutsu’s Cart. Explode with juice, add time to your game or deflect those pesky bombs with these awesome additions. Powerups can be obtained by spending Starfruit, which is the new Fruit Ninja currency collected at the end of every game based on your ninja skills.
