This Memorial Day weekend, Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater sets the stage for the first ever Red Bull Battlegrounds, the ultimate professional videogame tournament set to elevate the exploding eSports movement. 16 pro gamers of Blizzard Entertainment's global eSports flagship, StarCraft II, will converge in Capitol City, coming from South Korea, France, The Netherlands, Sweden, Canada and the USA, to compete for $41K -- and the honor of being crowned champion at Red Bull Gaming's first-ever eSports competition.

Live commentary for Red Bull Battlegrounds is provided by some of the premiere commentators in the StarCraft II community, including caster Sean "Day(9)" Plott of www.day9.tv, who will be joined by co-casters Marcus "djWHEAT" Graham of TwitchTV, Mike "Husky" Lamond, well-known gaming personality and contributor to The Game Station YouTube channel, and special guest e-Sports Manager at Blizzard Entertainment, Rob Simpson.

The tournament weekend kicks off on Friday, May 25th with a special Open House for Fans. Free to the public with doors open at 7pm, fans are invited to Austin City Limits Gallery, to meet and mingle with the pros and casters. Beginning at 8pm, the evening includes a pre-show panel featuring all of the attending athletes and the casters discussing the upcoming tournament, ending with an audience Q&A. In addition to photo and autograph opportunities, attendees have the chance to win great door prizes as well!

The competition officially kicks off on Saturday, May 26th with the first day of the Red Bull Battlegrounds Tournament. Four round robin groups of 4 compete, with top 2 in each group advancing to the playoffs on Sunday, May 27th.
