Extensive patch released for Crusader Kings II introduces new content
Paradox Interactive announced today the release of an extensive game patch introducing a significant amount of new content and improvements for Crusader Kings II, their action-adventure and strategy title that has been acclaimed as one of the best in the genre for recent years.
In addition to the usual bug-fixes, game polishing, and tweaks, the patch includes the following new content:
-- A New Crusade System: The Pope declares the war and other rulers can join the attacking alliance with the ruler contributing the most and gaining the targeted kingdom.
-- Coalition Armies: Armies can now be 'attached' to each other, after which they will follow the lead army.
EVENTS & PLOTS
-- Two New Plots: Plot to revoke your vassal's title, and even plot to cut a more powerful fellow vassal down to size.
-- More than 100 new events: Friendship & Rivalries, Regencies and others events add to the convoluted relations that take place at the heights of power and influence in the realm.
-- Six New Kingdoms: The patch includes the additional kingdoms of Frisia, Lotharingia, Bavaria, Pomerania, Aquitaine and Brittany.
GAMEPLAY & FLAVOR
-- New diplomatic options: Offer to Join War, Matrilineal Betrothal, and other flavoring moves...
-- Causes of Death: See what characters have died of to determine whether they were murdered or not.
-- War Contribution Score: Participants in wars now get a contribution score which determines how much prestige and piety they get when the war ends.
-- Cultural Changes: Culture has been uncoupled from ethnicity...

Downloadable Content (DLC) Added
In addition to patch 1.05, several DLC's have also been released today, including the much-anticipated Crusader Kings II Ruler Designer DLC which introduces a range of creative options for players, including character creation when starting a new game, portrait customization, Dynasty naming, designing Coats of Arms, assigning of skill points & traits, creating a spouse and children, and replacing a historical character with one that you create yourself!
The music DLC's Songs of Albion, Songs of Faith, and Songs of the Holy Land have arrived. All of these music add-ons were created by the original Crusader Kings II soundtrack composer Andreas Waldetoft, which means that they meet and exceed the measure of quality and the sort of flavoring that has distinguished the soundtrack as one of the best examples in the genre.
The strategy/RPG Crusader Kings II is available now via all major distribution platforms, and at selected retail outlets, with a publisher's suggested retail price of $39.99 (US). To purchase the game online you can hit the official website over at http://www.crusaderkings.com/buy or the digital distribution platform of your choice today!
