BioWare and EA have issued an email notice to gamers that the Open Beta for Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroes is on!

Gamers interested in digging into the game can head over to the official game website and explore the new options of the game store, lead five chosen heroes of the initial line-up to victory, and check out what else is new in the beta version -- all without having to worry about upcoming character wipes!

That's right -- unless something bad happens that makes a wipe required the Beta will not be wiping the character and player progress -- so it sounds like it is time to begin gathering gold and experience and build up your masteries library and boosts in earnest mates!

In addition to the renewed invitation to come over and kick the tyres, EA and BioWare announced today that the Tutorial and Lucian the Blade will arrive soon!

The tutorial will be offered to any new player at the press of the play button, and it teaches the basics of movement, targeting, combat, and captures, and it features a new hero -- Lucian -- who is a mercenary with a questionable reputation. Wielding two blades, his combat style is pretty straight forward and offensive -- kill your foe before he kills you -- and while that sounds all cool and in fact IS cool, what is even more cool is that every player who completes the tutorial will receive Lucian as their reward and can start to unlock his masteries! Now how cool is that?!

Lucian and the tutorial will arrive with the next game update, so keep an eye on the Herald for the exact date and make sure that those newbs who annoy you get the word so that they can actually learn how to play the game, right?
