inXile's epic iOS game The Bard's Tale is confirmed to include the famous original 80's trilogy for FREE
InXile Entertainment today confirmed that all owners of the Bard's Tale iOS will receive free updates that contain the original versions of the Bard's Tale made popular in the late 80's and early 90's. The original Bard's Tale series was a #1 hit and has been inducted into the Hall of Fame for both Gamespy and Computer Gaming World. In addition, Bard's Tale 3
has just recently been entered into the Smithsonian for its Art of Video Games exhibit.
The modern day version of the game was released to critical success in late 2004 and was recently released for iOS where it became the #1 RPG in 63 countries with an average customer rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. In addition, the game will be available for 2 weeks at a sales price of $4.99.
"The biggest request we have had from Bard's Tale players is the ability to play the original 3 games that became so popular. Now the iOS version has 'one game to rule them all and one game to bind them' as we incorporate all of the games into just one package," says Brian Fargo, of inXile Entertainment.
"We could not have been more pleased with the feedback and sales of our game on iOS and are happy we can give away the original games for people to experience. We will release each of the original games monthly starting today," Fargo explained.
