BloodRayne: Betrayal

In the months leading up to the release of BloodRayne: Betrayal there was a lot of excitement from the fans of the series who were a lot like fans of the Red Sox in the years leading up to their World Series win -- hopeful that this time it would be the break-out game for the series and their favorite vampire killer would finally break into the mainstream gaming consciousness.

OK so it was something less than that -- but the gamers who gave it a chance rather than instantly dismissing the game as little more than an old-school throwback, or another example of how game makers are trying to resurrect the classic platforming side-scroller shooter found it to be a pretty amazing play!

The good news is that if you are one of the gamers who was sitting on the fence and unwilling to lay out the green to try this one out, you will be happy to learn that BloodRayne: Betrayal is now 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE Arcade and $9.99 on the PlayStation Network. That is its permanent price mind you, not sale price.

Now that it is set at a reasonable price for casual gaming missing out on it would be an absolute shame, because BloodRayne: Betrayal is the bloodshed wrapped in a sexy package that you've been craving -- and now a great deal to boot!

BloodRayne: Betrayal is a retro throwback, bringing back the best of old-school platformers and blending it together with extremely satisfying, gorgeously bloody vampire slashing. It's a beautiful game with style in spades set to a chilling narrative. This is the definition of a must-have game at a fantastic price, so what is your excuse now?
