Rock of Ages
Releases September 7th for PC via Steam and
later this summer on the PlayStation Network
Did we mention how happy that we are about the end of the Summer Doldrums? Yeah, it is like this giant floodgate was holding back all of the wonderful gaming goodness out of some misguided idea that it was supposed to do that... And so the long dry summer nearly killed us from boredom and, if not for all those games we never finished from the previous year we would have had nothing to do!
I am not ashamed to admit that I made some genuine progress playing the Xbox 360 version of Oblivion: The Elder Scrolls IV as part of my whole getting ready for Skyrim campaign, and it was nice to actually finish off some of the optional missions in Mafia II, Fallout: New Vegas, and Borderlands -- you know, the stuff that you mean to get around to doing but just never actually have the time to do?
But hey, those days are behind us now for another year, so baring a really bad snow storm this winter that keeps us trapped in the house for weeks at a time, the arrival of new games like Rock of Ages, the balls-to-the-walls game of tower offense that is brought to us by developers Atlus and Ace should do very nicely indeed!
Featuring fast-paced strategy, high art, and gigantic boulders of doom, Rock of Ages is now available on Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360, and it will release for PC on September 7th via Steam, and later this Summer on the PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3 gamers -- woot!
Rock of Ages is a treat for the eyes, ears, and mind with its Monty Python-like approach to the subject of tower offense gaming. As players progress through nearly two dozen stages of crushing action, rewarding strategy, and breathtaking visuals, they'll be toured through five distinct periods of classic art history, encountering an assortment of famous historical and literary characters, outlandish and inspired defensive units, and fantastical bosses therein. The blend of genres and visual elements is so unlike anything else, the overall experience so pretty freaking awesome!
Rock of Ages is now available on Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 system, and will release for PC via Steam on September 7th and PSN later this summer - though considering how little of the summer there is left, they better get busy!
