Also for this game:

Are you a fan of the TV show Weeds? As unlikely as it was for a story like that to become the hit TV show that it is says something about the times we live in but what can you say? How about saying "It's about time we got a Weeds video game?!"

Ecko|Code and Lionsgate announced today the launch of the Weeds Social Club Facebook game (http://apps.facebook.com/weedssocialclub/ ), a game that is based on the Emmy award winning series Weeds of course.

A unique social gaming experience created by leading developer Mytopia, Weeds Social Club asks online users to become Facebook's most prosperous cannabis cultivator. Err.. Facebook's most ruthless drug dealer? Yeah, but in a soft and earthy-crunchy way...

"This is not about marketing. Lionsgate's cult features and TV shows are a natural fit for social media, and we intend to make Weeds Social Club one of the top leaders in the social gaming world," said Curt Marvis, President of Digital Media.

The game play loosely follows the comedy show -- thrust into the fictional world of the series, players are tasked with paying off the debt on their home or see it foreclosed on by the banks. Andy Botwin, ganja guru and one of the show's lead characters, saves the day by launching intrepid pot peddlers on a horticultural adventure.

The most dedicated of growers can unlock additional content to turn their dilapidated bud barns into marijuana mansions. With a time-clock system tracking growing and selling duties, Weeds Social Club delivers slick game play that rewards patience; it all boils down to a dealer's strategy and motivation.

Along the way, unique missions reward experience points which are used to shorten time between sales, lower the risk of police intervention, reduce organized crime taxes, gain discounts on store purchases and increase the THC potency.

With an emphasis on social connectivity, participants will have the opportunity to buy and sell from club members around the world. For a more personal experience they can limit transactions to their own social circles. Weeds Social Club won't teach anyone to grow marijuana but it will deliver a humorous and realistic interpretation of the risks and rewards Nancy Botwin, played by actress and Mary Louise Parker (voted MILF of the Year 2011 by burners everywhere), faces in each episode.

The ultimate goal, of course, is to grow the green to the make the green!
