Sorry about that left-turn humor -- sometimes you just cannot resist it -- but seriously, iRacing.com and V8 Supercars announced an agreement today that adds another professional and serious endorsement to the PC racing simulator that has been called "the most modern racing simulation ever created" by NASCAR Sprint Cup Driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr., and "the best racing simulator hands down," by V8 Supercar Driver Shane van Gisbergen -- and seriously, they aught to know, right?
The V8 Supercar Championship Endorsement
The organizers of the V8 Supercar Championship officially sanction the popular online racing service's V8 Supercar Racing Series, which will hereafter be known as the 'iRacing.com V8 Supercars Series presented by BigPond' -- whew! That is a long title...
By issuing the endorsement V8 Supercars joins NASCAR, INDYCAR, and GRAND-AM as a partner in sanctioning competition on the iRacing service, and a bazillion professional drivers who have experienced the racing simulation service as one of the best ways to study and learn the surface, layout, and racing challenges of real-world courses without having to spend the big bucks in petrol and rebuilding the engines on their cars after using them up in practice driving!
"As the world's leading online racing service, it's both appropriate and gratifying to announce our first international sanctioning partner," said Steve Myers, the Executive Vice President of iRacing.com.
"Many of our most enthusiastic members hail from Australia and New Zealand, and iRacing is proud to be associated with V8 Supercars.
