Call of Duty: Black Ops - Annihilation

Activision has passed the word that the third Call of Duty: Black Ops map pack -- Annihilation -- will indeed release today on PSN for a very reasonable $15! The map pack launched first on Xbox Live (28 June 2011), and now makes its way to the PS3 with four new multiplayer maps and a zombie map.
"Players will also enjoy an all-new Zombies experience, Shangri-La, an exotic and mysterious map filled with deadly traps, dark secrets and innovative gameplay that will challenge even the most daring Zombie hunters," says Mark Lamia, Treyarch Studio Head.
Activision / Treyarch previously released its First Strike map pack in February and its Escalation map pack in May, which is a pretty aggressive release schedule for DLC expansion by any standard. The Annihilation Map Pack provides Black Op's fans with four unique multiplayer settings, starting with Drive-In, Hangar 18, Hazard, and Silo.
The map pack includes:
Drive-In: Intense close-quarters combat in a 1960's era drive-in theater is what you face on this map -- and be sure to check out and clear out the classic arcade, right?
Hangar 18: Within the highly classified and uber-secret Area 51, gamers find themselves battling through experimental weapon labs, the SR-71 test hangar, and a mysterious autopsy room.
Hazard: Cuba is where you will explore a golf course, its well-stocked clubhouse, and velvet-smooth fairways where you will meet strange and exotic native people... And kill them! A little sniper-on-sniper action rounds out the experience, illustrating the expression "Reach out and Touch Someone!"
Silo: A secret Soviet nuclear missile site is under construction and your job is to take out the trash!

Shangri-La: An all-new Zombie experience -- you gotta have Zombies right? -- teleports gamers into paradise overrun with the undead. Multiple species of Zombies make your life interesting, and a twisting labyrinth of underground caverns, tunnels, and spaces challenge your abilities to manage crowd control while paying attention to the loot brah!
Scoring this bad boy today is a really good idea, because Activision has also let us know that the anticipated Double-XP Weekend we have been waiting for starts on July 29th -- which is like, tomorrow! Yippee-ki-ay-ayyy!
