Just what is it with this place? I never quite understood why there are so many psychotic nutters there who like to insult each other (And some think GU is bad for flaming!

). For those not in the know, 4chan is this imageboard where people post pictures, mostly related to anime but there is a "Random" board where you'll find a whole bunch of irrelevent crap. And some of the things there made me laugh my lungs out for pure stupidity.

Seriously, you couldn't fail to notice the bleeding "Donate Please" button in the boards that did work.

At least that's what I think.

Anyway, another thing that makes me laugh is the mods there. You think we are bad?! The mods there sometimes turn all "emo" and will ban you for no reason.

I saw a few of those pictures elsewhere. Mainly two or three. After a while it just started coming up with the red-X boxes so I just left =/

Theyve gone all emo at me at cheat planet. Im currently IP banned. But yeah, what were the posters like?

Being an image board it is more for pictures, so any text is restricted to comments on the currently posted picture. Most are immature and give you the impression that the average age of a 4chan member is 8. -_-;

You do get the odd serious discussion over some minor point in an anime (size of a female characters bust size seems to be a frequent one) and the odd flame war sometimes breaks out. They sometimes post nazi/nazi-anime parody themed pictures. Some show a homophobic streak. Whether or not this is serious, I don't know (And quite frankly I don't want to know). :wrong: I only ever go there for entertainment and as such I avoid getting involved in the verbal abuse as much as I can.

Typical comments are as follows:

"zOMG!!"
"toRRent pLs!!11!!"
"teH Rei!!11!! FAP FAP FAP" (Anime fans will get that one)
"You fail..." (Common 4chan insult)
"Sage" (As above, also a technical command which when entered into a field (Can't remember which one) on the reply page causes it to move down the list of threads and eventually it gets automatically deleted)
"Win!" (Common compliment when someone posts a picture that is favourable, usually "pr0n")
"Age" (As above and is the opposite of "sage". Bumbs the thread up to the top of the list)
Also any combination of the above can be used.

Rather limited vocabulary it seems. -_-;

EDIT: And as for the mods turning emo, it can happen for anything, from posting an inappropriate picture to posting in the wrong board to anything as petty as insulting the mod or he/she is just in a bad mood and bans you for no reason.

Did I mention there is no appeal and if you whinge about it you will most likely be hung, drawn and quartered by the few admins there. Very fair system!
