WWE.com has published an article talking about Kurt Angle’s neck surgery this Friday with Dr. Jho of the Jho Institute for Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery in Pittsburgh, PA. Below are some highlights coming out of that interview.

- Kurt Angle admitted in the article that the surgery at first sounded too good too be true. However, after meeting with Dr. Jho two days after WrestleMania on April 1st he decided that the surgery would be the best for him and his career. Angle made a comment on the surgery in the article by saying “The reason I like it is, I'm going to have full flexibility in my neck, which is what you need in this business.”

- Angle confirmed that part of the reason he made the decision to go with the alternate surgery is that three years ago Stone Cold Steve Austin had fusion surgery and now needs more, but is putting it off.

- Angle said that he knew he did more damage when he realized that he couldn’t even lift his left arm over his head after his match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.

-He concluded the article by saying that he had quite a scare when an MRI revealed a cyst in his thyroid that was feared to be cancerous. However, no one told Angle about this until after his match at WrestleMania, which Kurt said he was grateful for. Further tests revealed the cyst to be benign.

I just summarised the interview. But I didn't mean to scare you Jords.

That all? I thought I had a stroke when I first saw it.

So... Does Angle have cancer or no? I have no clue what that medical mumbojumbo means.

"Further tests revealed the cyst to be benign."

...cyst? benign...? Hmm?

Phew, thank god. Nobody could even replace Kurt Angle, he's one of a kind. :(

I can't believe you just said that Jords. :(

Eric has nothing on Angle. No charisma... Angle is far more technically sound... Angle is a far better brawler... Eric can't match to Angle when in a ring. :(

Average. Check out his EWR stats to get a retrospective on him.

Eric is ok, but nowhere close to Kurt. Kurt is the coolest ever, and he just rules.

If Eric worked real hard, I'm sure he could get pretty good, but he will be nothing like Kurt.

Meh, Angle's gimmick could never be duplicated though... Unless somebody went into the olympics, won the gold medals with a broken neck and came to the WWE to have as successful run as Angle. :o

It's possible!

Heh, I read some stuff that Shelton Benjamin could have aparently kept training and have been a good candidate for the Olympics some time, but he said he wanted to pursue a WWE dream instead of the Olympics.

Damn you, Shelton!

If Shelton actually did, then joined WWE, they could work in such a big storyline. Olympic Gold Medalist vs. Olympic Gold Medalist. Shelton could come in when Angle's talking about how he's the only Olympic Gold medalist ever, telling him off as he's done it too. That could be worked in to like, the biggest match... ever. :o

Shelton is God. I can't believe his low stats in EWR.

Yeah, that's crazy. Those stat creaters know jack.

Nah, I think Shelton's better. Shelton's more technical than Haas, and Shelton can sell much better than him, IMO. Haas's facial expressions during matches don't seem all that real, while Shelton's do.

Yeah I was reading that stuff on Shelton the other night and I was highly impressed, i'm like, damn this guy could be my new favourite now that Kurt's gone. I hope they take team angle into tag team history like the hardyz and dudleys, thatd be awesome.

They should, they deserve it. Awesome team, they work well together. After all, within their first couple months as a team they won the tag titles, and that's when pretty much nobody knew who they were. WWE wouldn't give people a title like that if they didn't think they could achieve good things.
