Many me be unaware, but Steve Austin went into his match with The Rock at WrestleMania knowing it could very well be his final match ever. At this point, Austin may be looking at retirement from his in-ring career.
As used in the promo that got him "fired" last week, Steve Austin did indeed spend the night before WrestleMania XIX in the hospital. Austin was there more for anxiety reasons than neck problems, although his neck is a mess.
Even though Austin went into the match with an injury, the plan was always for him to lose clean to The Rock to build him up for his final match in WWE before leaving again against Bill Goldberg.
Austin will remain a television presence on the RAW side, likely as the disgruntled "fired employee" or possibly under a power role to threaten Bischoff's General Manager status.
Hmm. It's looking like there will be no more Austin matches until they eventually do a Goldberg vs. Austin match, in which will be his last. :/

You know they will do a Austin vs Goldberg, but as for any other matches with Austin, I don't see it happening. And after he fights Goldberg I see him retiring completely, because he will have done it all bye then. Heh, what more could you wanna do in a Wrestling career?
-Headline Wrestlemanias
-Hold Numerous WWE Titles
-Be in all three feds
-Be one of the biggest names ever
-Be on TV Shows and Commercials

Going down as one of the best in ring wrestlers is something he'll never accomplish though, heh. Thousands of people beat him in that category.

I dont think he personally wants or cares to be in that category, he's happy just chugging beer and winning titles. heh.
Good on him though, you just cant diss a man like that, he's made a lot of money and had a good career, full respect to Stoney. His feuds and main events will be remembered.
You can also gurantee they will bring him back when he as old as Hulk Hogan and I reckon when that day comes, the crowd, including me will go ballistic, it'd be so good. heh By then Vince will be like grey haired and struggling with a walking stick.

Heh, I can see him coming back some day like Hogan too, but probably not as active as a wrestling role as Hogan had. Austin's physical problems right now are worse than Hogan's, and he's 20 years younger.

*Stone Cold Stunners Pace!*
Yeah!
*Has a beer....*
He should stay on WWE even if he isnt wrestling, and i hope he beats Goldberg even though I like Goldberg more than him, but I can just see Goldberg and SCSA huggin, tellin each other great match and the crowd going wild as Goldberg raises SCSAs arm!

pfft. Most of Austin's drinking is just part of his gimmick, sure he drinks in real life, but he aint a crazy a$$ drunk.
Goldberg gave a list of people who he wouldnt job to, I dont think Austin was on it, but im not sure.

That's what I've read too, and I think it'd be pretty sweet. I'm starting to not like Bischoff.

From what I read about nWo returning with Luger and Macho Man or something, if it ever does and WWE gets them signed, Bischoff would be perfect to lead nWo.
They could move Hogan to Raw again and have him go heel with Bischoff again. Sure its been done, but meh.

I think the next nWo run could be succesful, I mean with Bischoff as Lead with Hogan, it would be Golden.
Nash, Hogan, Savage, Luger, Bischoff, possibly HBK and HHH.
They couldn't throw in HBK and HHH, or atleast HHH, because theres no way Trips would wanna be looked on lower than Hogan.

They'd probably want to put Steiner in there too Goldy, since their not really doing anything else with him.
