I'll admit that I am addicted to gambling. I cannot walk past the pokies without slipping a few bucks in. I go to the club about 2-3 times a week and usually end up losing my money with a friend who is also addicted. Although we have had some big wins. In the end my win/lose ratio is still about even, so im not in need of quitting my addiction as yet, although its getting pretty bad, the other night I couldnt get to sleep because all I could hear was the poker machine music going off in my head. I can sit there for hours betting 20c at a time and be happy lol.
Is anyone else out there addicted, friends or family that are?

i know loads of people that are addicted to gambling, while i was working at a snooker hall a couple of months back, it wasnt unusual to see people playing on the fruit machines for 12 hours at a time, and the amount of times id start work at 11pm and they were in there, i'd have to kick them out of the place at 6am when my shift was over, i think watching people lose £500 in 7 hours was more than enough to put me right off gambling.
I still do gamble a bit, but i try to only gamble on things that i know about, i stay well away from horses and dogs cause i know **** all about them, so pretty much all i bet on is Football and myself, the only two things that arent completely reliable on luck as far as im concerned.

Nah, even though I'm not of "legal" age yet, I don't think I'll start gambling. I don't like it when things are left up to chance, and I have NO affect on the outcome... unless I cheat... but then I'd get my legs borked...

I know a few people at college who are addicted gamblers. One of them hardly ever turns up to lessons because there is an important greyhound race on!
He usually comes into a lesson really happy because he's won or really unhappy because he's wasted his cash!
My dad does the football pools every week, and separate bets on other football matches etc.
I sometimes bet on football.
Oh yeah, I had a bet on the Grand National and I won £80- I put on a fiver at 16-1 for Monty's Pass to win and he won!:D i might bet on horses more often!!!

I buy the occasional scratch card, and occasional will do the lottery, but i would'nt say i'm an addict, i remember one time though, i was my local shopping centre, and i went into the arcades, and started playing on one the machines, it's one those in which you put 10p coins in and try to win more out of it, in the end i ended up wasting £25 on it, it never hit me first that i wasted £25, but i was gutted when i realised how much i inserted into the machine, i won't be using those machines again:D

A friend of mine was really into the whole gambling with bookie on NFL football. Basically he lost a lot of money. Thats the bad news. The good news is that he doesn't bet anymore.
Its common sence though. Gambling doesnt pay. If it did, it wouldn't be a multi-biliion dollar industry.
i have the odd flutter here and there.
made a killing on the yankball playoffs, championship game and superbowl. but a lad i knew who was still at uni, made a fortune, i mean high 5 figure stuff, from spread betting, he was buying at £50 or so a point, i was buying at £5 a point, and still made the best part of 1 grand in total.
dont bet on footie that often, far too unpredictable.
nags and dogs i give a wide berth, cos its one way that the bookies can screw you.
i avoid the fruities, craps, roulette and poker... i just lose money there. i am alright at blackjack and, if i play badly, i usually break even, if i do well, usually make a bit.
lad iwent to uni with, jimmy, he was a professional gambler for 2 or so years, all on the nags, made upwards of £20K a year, but he did treat it like a full tiem job, 9-5 7days a week sorta thing.
gambling is like anythign in life... good in moderation, and only gamble what u could afford to lose.

i had a go at spread betting once, cost me a tidy little sum so i've tried to steer clear of it.
Im semi addicted to all forms of gambling, i just find it gives you a rush. I usually bet on football, horses & golf. Lose most of my money at the Casino though, a group of us have a casino night once a month, and lets just say I've only come home winning once. Though i've never lost so much money that I cant afford to pay, overall im probably about a grand down in total, which isnt that bad.
People who are totally addicted, lad from my football team went down the casino thursday night, firday night, staurday day, saturday night and sunday night. And my best mate blow his months wages in a couple hours.
Gamble's great if you can afford to lose

My dad was addicted to gambling a while back, he spent all his money in the bookies.... He's kicked the habit a few years ago, but often thinks about the thousands of pounds he has thrown away over the years.
I used to dabble in stocks and shares, but not really anymore as the stock market has been pretty poor over the last couple of years. I also had a go at spread betting, but you've really got to be fixed to your screen as you can lose your shirt that kind of thing.

My manager is addicted to playing Lotto.
He'll spend a big chunk of his paycheck and end up winning 2 dollars back or some other pathetic amount.
