Hayabusa Update

In the next chapter of what will hopefully eventually become a happy ending, Japanese star Hayabusa was able to leave the hospital he was undergoing therapy under his own power assisted by crutches on 3/31.

It had been exactly 525 days since Hayabusa was injured and paralyzed during a match with Mammoth Sasaki at the FMW PPV at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo on 10/20/01. Hayabusa was attempting a quebrada (also known as Chris Jericho's Lionsault) apparently slipped as he shot off the ropes, landing on his head in the ring. FMW announced soon afterward that Hayabusa had been paralyzed from the neck down due to a cervical vertebrae injury.

Hayabusa began an intensive physical therapeutic rehabilitation immediately. In March of 2003, he was finally able to begin walking stairs and began walking with crutches on 3/14. Hayabusa is scheduled to appear at the 4/11 WMF promotion event at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo before undergoing a shoulder surgery in May....

Great to hear he's partially mobile again. Sad what happened to him, wrestling would be so much greater with him still in it. Hopefully in due time, he'll be able to walk without crutches. :)

Doubt he'd be getting back in the ring. For one, he's getting old. For two, he won't be anywhere near 100% again, he won't even be up to 20% of his old physicallity. In ring return is highly doubtful.

There's no official site for Hayabusa, or none that I have seen anyway. I'm sure you can download some matches or clips of his off KaZaA or any other p2p program you may have. The place I have you need membership too, so you wouldn't be able to download from there.

i have tons of Hayabusa matches, they are all .wmv ones though.... they are good, unless you have a mac.

I've never seen them either. Unless I see them at Zach's or something, I ain't seeing them either. :o
